xoop is an assistant that runs on your own computer. Most of what it knows about you stays there. This page explains the small part that doesn't.
When you sign in with Google
We receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and nothing else. No access to your Gmail, Drive or contacts comes with signing in. We use these to know who you are, to let you into the beta, and to show your account in the app.
What our servers keep
- Your account: name, email, picture, when you joined and last used xoop.
- Your signed-in devices: a device name and a sign-in token (stored scrambled, so it can't be read back).
- Usage counts for each request: its size, its cost and the time. We use these for the daily allowance. Not what you asked or what xoop answered.
- If you join the waitlist: your email address.
- Once paid plans start: your plan, and for each payment what it was for, the amount and its status. You pay on the payment processor's own page (Razorpay, once our account with them is open), so we don't see a card number, UPI PIN or bank login. Tax law makes us keep payment records after an account is deleted, with nothing linking them to you.
- One-tap links you share: the link's recipe, checked to carry no personal details. A shared link is public: anyone who has it can see its preview. Deleting your account takes your links down.
What stays on your computer
Your conversations, memories, files, routines and browser profile live on your own computer, in xoop's folder. If you connect your phone, it talks to your computer through a sealed link. Our relay passes the messages along but can't read them.
How xoop thinks
To answer you, xoop sends the current conversation to the AI services that power it. They process it only to produce the answer. We choose services that agree not to keep your data or train on it, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
Deleting your data
In xoop, You → Privacy & data → Export everything saves a copy of what xoop keeps about you on your computer, and Delete everything deletes your xoop account with everything our servers keep about you, then everything on your computer. Your own files in xoop's workspace folder stay. You can also email us from the address you signed in with.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
